[Discussion] Khador Questions

Here are some questions I got from Peter Dalope (feriomadrox) of Baguio, Philippines. I'll try to put some insight here.

Q: Pinag-iisipan nung friend namin ni Joma kung alin sa dalawa ang bibilhin nya: Greylords or Pikemen. Any suggestions or points to consider before deciding?
Ian "Kim" Navarro: I would strongly suggest getting some solid infantry first, so I say Iron Fang Pikemen. They have really good stats, plus they will work with any Khadoran warcaster as front line infantry or bodyguard (for small-based warcasters). Greylords are OK, but they're more of a specialized role, and costly for three cloth wearers. Plus with the coming of Shake Effects on Mk2, and their reduction in DEF, they're harder to work with an Mk1 mentality.
Dick Sy: IFP vs Greylords - definitely IFP. Then IFP UA. Then you get the Greylords.

Q: Kuya, i-rate mo nga effectiveness ng Assault Kommandos - pinapatanong ng friend ko. Curious din ako kasi I have not yet seen anyone field them. And they don't seem to put them on any list. Sinong warcaster ang magandang kasama nila?
Kim: Personally, I'm not a fan of how their models look, that's why I haven't bought any of those as of the moment. I'd buy them if I had the luxury cash, and just so I can say I have the models. Using them is another thing. I'd use Winter Guard over those. In Mk2, they may turn out to be immune to fire and corrosion, but they'd fill a specialized role against some Protectorate or Cryx. As for warcasters, most probably pVlad (Signs and Portents) and eIrusk (everything he does) will make good use of Assault Kommandos.
Dick Sy: Never got the AKs so can't comment on them much whether Mk 1 or 2.

Q: What's the advantage of taking a Kodiak over a Devastator?
Kim: It will boil down to preference. Khadoran warjacks are all slow at SPD4. If you make them run, you'd have to allocate focus on them. The Mk1 Kodiak can run for free. In Mk2, it will be even field for the Kodiak and the Devastator in those terms. For me, I'd take the Kodiak because it can cross rough terrain. Plus its Hammerfists work well with Sorscha's Tempest or any other knock down effect. But primarily, I'd take the Kodiak because it's cheaper in points. It's too easy to cripple a Khadoran warjack, so taking the cheapest one you can get will give you more points for infantry, which you can use to offset said crippled warjack.
Dick Sy: Mk 1 and 2, if you have to choose between the two, Kodiak gets the nod first. Flexible and works well with most casters. Dev is more of a bodyguard and while it can be nasty with RoD, it can also be easily taken down. If you can get both though, get them.

Q: Saan book or No Quarter mababasa: Ginawang weapon ni Asphyxious si Daemortus? Yung part na sumama si Cylena kay Goreshade?
Kim: Regarding Asphyxxious and Daemortus, I believe that story is found in Apotheosis. No idea about Cylena and Goreshade. It's probably in Legends or the NQs around the time Legends was released.
